A high quality, motorsport derived Monotube coilover suspension system employing a sophisticated deflected-disc valve system inside the dampers for optimum wheel-control.
Lightweight, shortened aluminium bodies, exactly as our race kits use for a really significant weight saving.
Coilover rear dampers, plus 45mm inverted ‘thick-stem’ front damper providing a super stiff front McPherson strut, unique in the market.
Supplied with 60mm id linear springs with helper springs; in standard sizes to make them easily swapped for different rates for full set-up options.
Includes shortened Adjustable Drop Links plus Adjustable Top Mounts, CNC Machined and pre installed pillow ball bearing, for super accurate camber set up.
12-point adjustment of bump and rebound damping, adjustable with no tools or jacking via the beautifully over-engineered adjuster knobs.
/// One of the most significant changes over the VWR StreetSport kits is that the rear dampers are now coilover, allowing a full range of spring travel at the rear, rather than relying on shorter springs (as non-coilover rear kits do).
/// The TrackSport kit has inverted ‘thick-stem’ front dampers, giving a much stiffer strut to avoid flex under intense load.
/// 12-point adjustment of bump and rebound rates via one beautifully engineered adjuster knob. Importantly for a track-orientated kit, both front and rear can be adjusted with no tools, and with no need to jack your car up.
/// To complete the ultimate-specification kit, the VWR TrackSport set-up comes with the VWR Adjustable Solid Top Mounts included, plus the shortened Drop Links, plus 60mm linear springs.
/// This is a stiff, track-orientated set-up, with shorter-travel dampers and higher-rate springs. Ride quality is undoubtedly firm, but beautifully controlled and tautly-damped and certainly very usable on the road.
/// The VWR TrackSport kit has been developed directly from our full race kits; the only differences are in the internal valving settings and the spring rate/lengths that are supplied. The kit really is that special.
/// The Monotube dampers are a unique feature in the market. Monotube allows much larger pistons than those of twin-tube dampers (as used on cheaper offerings). The larger Monotube piston creates more flow through the valves as it can displace more oil; thus making it more sensitive to small suspension movements, and able to provide consistent damping performance under the harshest conditions (such as track use).
/// How do we achieve this? All of our testing is done using high-cost multi-way adjustable dampers and multiple spring combinations (including lengths, rates and winding design). Only once we have finished our set up do we then 'lock' our settings. The profiles of these development dampers are then fully measured on our damper dyno, and the results replicated exactly into the valving of the TrackSport dampers as the 'central point' of the adjustment range.
/// The VWR TrackSport Kit can still be upgraded further in future, should you one day move from track-day to racing. Our 60mm id uprated Linear springs are a standard size, and so different spring rates can easily be swapped. Additionally, the dampers can be revalved and upgraded to 3-way remote reservoir to become full race specification.
/// This kit is compatible with cars fitted with Volkswagen Group's switchable ACC suspension – although it's important to be clear that the dampers loose the switchability of the standard dampers, and an additional electronic box is required from us at extra cost to avoid fault codes in the car.
/// Versions of the VWR TrackSport suspension kits are only available for cars with the independent rear suspension, not for the lower-power twist-beam vehicles.
/// Compatible with front and four-wheel drive chassis.
